Pastel, ink, and gouache on paper 40 x 33 inches (frame) 028 The lower two hands of Shadakshari are in the mudra of greeting or prayer (namaskara) and hold a wish-fulfilling gem. The upper right hand holds a rosary and the upper left hand holds a white lotus. There is an antelope skin over his left shoulder with the antelope’s head on his left breast, symbolizing compassion. His skin is white in color. His hair is partly upswept in knots and partly falls on his shoulders. A seated image of the Dhyani Buddha Amitabha crowns his hair. He is richly dressed indicating that while pure he has not abandoned pleasant things.
